SOLID STATE CONTROL AND
ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS

In everyday life you can find a lot of examples for solid state control and electronic control systems. Mostly they are not noticed by us because they become natural for us. There is a basic difference between solid state control and electronic control. In the solid state control the output quantity is not monitored and can be changed by external influences. For example you can use a lamp dimmer for a solid state control. The brightness of the lamp is constant so long as for example the mains voltage is constant.

In the electronic control the output quantity is regarded with and so a so-called control loop is formed. An electronic control where the output quantity temperature is monitored for example in homes is the room heating or a freezer. Solid state control and electronic control can be performed differently depending on application and budget. It goes from simple solution to Microcontroller- or DSP-applications.
